Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the StudyLess mobile application ("App," "Service," or "StudyLess"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App.
Description of Service
StudyLess is an educational mobile application that helps students:
- Create and organize digital flashcards
- Generate flashcards using AI technology
- Study using spaced repetition algorithms
- Track study progress and performance
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use StudyLess. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use this App.
User Accounts
Account Creation
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
Account Security
- Never share your password with others
- Use a strong, unique password
- Log out from shared devices
- Report any security breaches to us immediately
User Content
Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to StudyLess, including:
- Flashcard questions and answers
- Study notes and materials
- Images and documents uploaded for AI generation
License to Us
By uploading content to StudyLess, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and display your content within the App
- Process your content to provide services (e.g., AI flashcard generation)
- Back up your content for data protection
- Use anonymized, aggregated content to improve our services
This license ends when you delete your content or account.
Content Standards
You agree NOT to upload or create content that:
- Violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Contains hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
- Includes personal information of others without consent
- Promotes illegal activities or violence
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Infringes on the privacy or safety of others
Acceptable Use
You agree to use StudyLess only for lawful purposes. You will NOT:
- Violate Laws - Use the App in any way that violates local, state, national, or international law
- Misuse Services - Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
- Interfere - Disrupt or interfere with the security or functionality of the App
- Impersonate - Pretend to be someone else or misrepresent your affiliation
- Spam - Use automated systems to access the App without permission
- Exploit - Use the App for unauthorized commercial purposes
- Abuse - Harass, threaten, or harm other users
AI-Generated Content
AI Flashcard Generation
- Our AI uses Google Gemini to process images and generate flashcards
- AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content
- We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated flashcards
Your Responsibility
- Always review AI-generated flashcards before studying
- Verify information against reliable sources
- Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for critical exams or decisions
Intellectual Property Rights
Our Rights
All rights, title, and interest in StudyLess, including:
- App design, layout, and user interface
- Code, software, and algorithms
- Logos, trademarks, and branding
- Documentation and content we create
are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or distribute our App code
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
- Use our trademarks without permission
- Create derivative works based on our App
Subscription and Payments
Free Service
Currently, StudyLess is offered free of charge during the beta period.
Future Pricing
We reserve the right to:
- Introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future
- Change pricing with reasonable notice
- Offer promotional pricing or discounts
Termination
By You
You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion:
- Your account will be permanently closed
- Your content will be deleted within 30 days
- Some data may be retained as required by law
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Your actions harm other users or our services
- We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)
Disclaimers
"As Is" Service
StudyLess is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including:
- No guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service
- No warranty of accuracy or reliability of content
- No guarantee of specific results or outcomes
Educational Tool
StudyLess is an educational tool to assist with studying. It is not:
- A substitute for professional educational advice
- A guarantee of academic success
- Responsible for exam or test outcomes
Third-Party Content
We are not responsible for:
- Content you upload or create
- AI-generated content accuracy
- Third-party services or links
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
We shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or opportunities
- Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
- Damages from unauthorized access to your account
- Damages from errors or inaccuracies in content
Our total liability shall not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of others
- Content you upload or create
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of changes by:
- Posting updated Terms in the App
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending a notification for material changes
Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@studyless.app to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
